In 1993, the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) was established by non-governmental conservation organizations. In 1994, the FSC Forest Certification Standards were officially released, and certification agencies were authorized to conduct FSC certification based on these principles and standards. It has now become one of the most widely used forest certification systems in the world.
FSC has been committed to improving global forest management for many years. The FSC label enables businesses and consumers to wisely choose forest product procurement, and through large-scale market participation, creates a truly positive impact, such as protecting wildlife, mitigating climate change, improving the lives of workers and communities, thereby achieving the ultimate goal of "Forests For All Forever".
